Dystonia Australia has ceased operations due to insufficient financial and material support, although the website will remain active providing a source of information for people with dystonia. We hope that, with wider support and commitment from those in the dystonia community, their friends, families and associates, Dystonia Australia will soon gain a more secure footing to enable it to once again actively pursue its aims.

Dystonia is a neurologic syndrome characterized by involuntary, sustained, patterned, and often repetitive muscle contractions of opposing muscles causing twisting movements of abnormal postures. It can affect just one part of the body or several different areas.
